Forty-two

 I turn 42 today. I don't have much to say about this. It's not really a landmark birthday. But it does make me think of the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.

Puzzles I do daily

Lately, I start my day with a few puzzles. And by "start my day" I mean "I do these early in the morning at work." And by that I mean I typically only do these on workdays, so my winning streaks rarely extend past five days.

All of that is to say, here is a list of puzzle games I play roughly five days a week:

Yes, there is a strong New York Times connection with most of those games, but I actually came across each game independently. I guess it's convenient that they're all NYT games, so I can directly click from one to the next, but it's mere coincidence.

Now, dear reader, I invite you to share puzzle games of your own that you play, especially if they're word games similar to those I've listed above.

A new void to shout into

Welcome to Shouting into the void, my latest online space. It's been years since I had a blog. Even longer since I had one hosted on blogger.com.

So why write a blog in the year of our lord twenty twenty-five? Because the algorithm is killing the web. Because the dead internet theory feels ever closer to reality. Because it feels like a small act of rebellion against the commodification of the web. Because I can.

So here it is. I hope to make it a regular thing. Even if no one finds it, I plan to write in this space at least once a week—hopefully more.
